Hello World!! I know that it's been awhile, but i figured that it was time to let you guys know what was going on. As most of you know, I moved to Atlanta about four months ago. My job has had me tied up for a little bit, but I've just recently had a few auditions for some showcases that seem somewhat promising. One of which is called "rated next". Its a showcase done every year in 4 major cities (ny, la, atl, and san francisco). It gives artist a chance to impress major label reps. www.iamratednext.com is the name of the site.....you should check it out!!!

INTRUDER ALERT
Hopefully, this is something that most people can relate to. Say you have a friend right, and that friend has a companion. Now, your friend isn't perfect (of course) but for the most part he/she does right by their companion. The companion on the other hand is a bit different. Despite being obligated to your friend, they do things behind your friends back and though they never verbally said so, expect you to keep your mouth closed. Because knowing your friend, even if you did tell them they wouldn't believe you and you would be risking a good friendship by intruding into their business.
My question is this....Do you STILL tell them and risk it or do you just let them find out the hard way???

Good News
Hello World!!! Well, while I was down in Atlanta, I met with a couple that I performed for on my previous trip. They laid out a lot of things, Including the fact that they wanted me on their Independent Record Label. Nothing is written in stone just yet, but we did talk about it and although I AM NOT signing any papers right now I am so glad to let you guys know that I am with a label....independent of course!!! I know that it may not seem like much now, but I just want you to see how things progress!!!

Hard Times
So, this weekend wasn't at all what I expected!! I went to Atlanta with the intention of meeting the VP of the marketing department for the wnba, having court side tickets, and even more importantly having four shows. None of which even happened. We get down there and go straight to the game (Atlanta Dream vs Detroit Shock) with high hopes, little did we know that the promoter (whose name I'm dying to mention) would flake us out. On his behalf, three of the four shows were cancelled (the fourth was cancelled due to rain) and I didn't hear anything about court side tickets nor did he bother setting up the meeting, with the VP, like he said he did. Needless to say, I'm a little down because I spent about $600 and countless hours preparing for this weekend....for nothing. But on bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch, these are just the types of obstacles that I have to encounter in order to get to where I'm going. This also just goes to show that if it looks and feels to good to be true....it probably is.

Failure
Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game. Most people go throughout life doing what's in their mind, but the most successful people in life do what's in their hearts. The fear of failure or falling down is what keeps people from doing what they love especially when majority of people have failure as their typical expectation. Friends, family, everyone tells you that you can "be what you want to be" but there is always the slightest taste of failure lingering in the back of your mind. Remember to aim high, because the only true failure in life is not trying.

Website Done
Finally!!! Some of you guys probably got the mass text that I sent out and if you didn't, just know that it talked about my site being finalized. My management team (Antoine and Darius) along with the designer (thanks Ron) worked really hard on designing this site and I REALLY want you guys to check it out. If you have my number, you can text me about it, comment on the blog site itself or whatever, but I really would appreciate feedback. Tell all of your friends and tell them to tell their friends about it. I appreciate all of the feedback that everyone has given me thus far and hopefully there will be more positive feedback in the near future.
